A career change is always an exciting event. This can be even more thrilling when jobs in Trinidad and Tobago are part of the move. Many people are drawn to these beautiful islands not only because of the employment prospects but also because of the high standard of living and friendly welcome. Even those with young families can find a great job and give their children the advantage of growing up on a tropical island.


These islands are at the bottom of the Caribbean Sea, close to the shores of South America. They have a tropical climate that is moderated by the trade winds. Those who live there often enjoy a high standard of living. Homes are bright and airy to take advantage of the weather. Career opportunities are many and varied, ranging from work in the oil industry to selling real estate.

Despite their tranquil location the islands are every bit as up to date as the rest of the world. This is reflected in the high need for qualified internet technicians. There are many great jobs available to anyone with the right background and experience. Updates and system improvements are always taking place and staying on the cutting edge of advancements is very important for any business.

Internet technology is also a big employer on the islands. Despite their remote location and laid back way of life they certainly have not been left behind in the new technology revolution. People are just as involved with the latest research and development as anywhere in the world. The tourist industry also provides many job opportunities for those in Trinidad and Tobago. Every year many visitors come to the islands to enjoy a break in the sun. Winter and spring breaks are particularly popular, especially among those from the colder northern climates. Many people stay in self contained resorts that offer many amenities such as sailing, golf, tennis and swimming.

Anyone who enjoys being outdoors will love a job as a sailing or swimming instructor. There are also many opportunities for tennis and golf pro's. Anyone with sailing experience can look for employment as a charter boat captain. Many visitors want to spend some time on the water and want the luxury of a full equipped yacht or cruiser with a full crew. It is wonderful to spend a day or even a week sailing the bays and coves of this beautiful area.

Property management provides a fast paced job that is perfect for someone who enjoys a challenge. The duties are quite varied and may include taking bookings for rental properties, coordinating billing and arranging for cleaning and maintenance crews to keep all the properties in the very best condition. Guests will also need someone to turn to in the event of a problem. The manager must be prepared to be on duty for many hours as this is an integral part of the job.

Education also provides many jobs in Trinidad and Tobago. The islands always need good teachers, ranging from the elementary level all the way to college and vocational instructors. Anyone interested in moving to the islands will have plenty of careers to choose from that are well paid and rewarding.
