How A Solar Heat Exchanger Can Help Save Money

By Linda Maynard

Throughout the year people end up spending a lot of money on natural gas expenses. The non renewable energy source is used to power heaters that heat up water for homes as well as to heat up the air to heat up the home during the winter months. Using a solar heat exchanger is a great way to save money and prevent yourself from going broke trying to keep up with your bills.

When trying to save money where your homes energy consumption is concerned there are a lot of places that you can look. In large part this is because over the last few years there have been many products that have come out in an attempt to do this very thing. First we need to realize where our heating and cooling comes from before we can figure out ways to save money with it.

In the summer time we have to have air conditioning to cool the house down. This takes electricity to run the unit that cools the house down. In the winter we need to heat our homes and in most cases this is done with natural gas which runs the heater. We also need to heat our water so we can have hot water for our sinks and for bathing.

This means using things like solar power or a solar heat exchanger. These are great little devices that take energy from and convert that energy to heat that we can use to make hot water. This can give us all a great amount of savings all year round. There are a couple kinds of exchangers and technologies used to make this happen.

The first place to start should be what we are bringing into our homes in order to heat and power our homes. Solar power is one of the easiest ways for homeowners to integrate renewable energy into the way that we do things and thus into our lives. To do this we can use a solar heat exchanger to create warmth from the power of the sun.

This heated liquid now runs past a large water tank that holds the water that will eventually be used in the sinks and in the showers. The heated liquid passes by this tank and heats the water instead of the natural gas running through and burning under the tank to heat it. This is obviously cheaper because you will be using less gas.

These heated pipes will in turn run through a tank that holds all the water used by the home that will be used for hot water. The pipes warm that water just like a water heater would warm it. It can then be used for whatever purposes you would need hot water for. This same process can be used to heat air just as well and therefore used to heat the house in the winter time.

A solar heat exchanger is a great way to cut down your gas bills. In some homes as the gas bills get higher and higher people are going broke trying to keep up. In some cases they are getting disconnected because they no longer can keep up financially. While there are other ways, this is one of the easiest to install and cheapest in the long run to replace your natural gas systems.
