How To Choose Childfree Dating Sites

By Marci Glover

People choose to use online dating sites for a variety of different reasons. In some cases it is because people are busy and do not have time to go out to clubs or societies in order to meet new people. In other cases it could be because they are less confident than other people and want to develop social skills, finding it easier to talk with people online. One specialist version of this kind of website are childfree dating sites.

A common problem people have on sites is being approached by single parents with children. This is difficult because it creates a dilemma for the user, especially if they have specifically stated on their profile that they do not want children. You do not necessarily want to be rude but on the other hand you do have to make clear that you are not interested.

The advantage of a specialist site is that you are more likely to meet someone who is compatible with you. However it is important to be aware that someone who does not have children is not necessarily someone who will not be interested in having children at some point in the future.

Therefore when you post a profile you need to be clear. Some people may initially contact others without necessarily closely reading their profile. The danger is that they do not realise that they both have goals that are not compatible with each other. If someone definitely wants children in future and another definitely does not it is unlikely that they will be able to continue their relationship.

This is worth considering before signing up for a site. Look through the profiles and learn more about the people on there. Some are more specialist than others. However be wary because it is wrong to assume because someone has similar interests that they will necessarily be compatible with you.

You also need to be aware of the different types of site. Some will be free and others will be paid for. In some cases checking messages will be free but it will cost money to contact people on the site. When looking through profiles on the site check carefully to ensure that they are real profiles.

For example do not simply say you have a great sense of humour. Humour is very subjective. Some people love slapstick while others will prefer quick wit or have a very dry sense of humour. None of these are right or wrong and are another example of ways people can be compatible. There is a fine line between being honest and selling yourself. If in doubt look at other profiles and ask yourself what you would want to see before posting your own.

Ideally the people who run the site should be realistic. They should be able to give you advice on how to create an effective profile and how to find people who you could meet that you are more likely to have chemistry with. The fact is that someone with similar interests may not necessarily be your ideal catch. Use your regular search engine to find a number of sites that may be suited to your needs. With the right approach you will be more likely to find a site that works for you.
