Haiti is known to be a place that actually has quite a high poverty rate wherein many of the modern necessities are actually lacking. It is because of this that the Haiti Mission was actually formed in order to help the people who reside there to make the land more livable. For people who are interested about this organization, here is some information.
In 1999, some members of a church in Louisiana known as the Saint Bridget Church of Schriever noticed this and decided to create the organization. As years passed by, Many other organizations in America as well as Haiti have collaborated with this organization. They would tie up with the Church Parish of Our Lady of Assumption in order to help the poor people of Jeremie, which is among the poorest lands in the entire country.
One of their main projects would be the distribution of animals that could be turned into food because food is quite scarce in this place. What they do is that they get farm animals in farms from Leogane. After they got these animals, they treat them to make sure no viruses are found so that no people will get sick.
Since education is a necessity for children but is also very scarce in the area, then a number schools were built for this area. In fact, it was also the organization who handled all the facilities and the school equipment in the institutes. Aside from that, they also provided the manpower that was needed such as the teachers, the medical staff, the and of course the maintenance team.
Aside from schools, they would also build some houses in the area since most of the people here still live in huts. Of course just like the schools, they would also provide all the facilities and utilities in the house. This would include the water and other necessities that should be found in a house.
Another one of their projects was to provide some clothing for the children especially shoes. What they noticed was that the children had shoes that had holes and cracks which would hurt their feet because of the rough terrain. That is why they brought in shoes from America and had these shoes distributed in the school.
Since this place in general has a passion for the sport known as soccer. So in order to be able to give hope to the people in the area, a soccer field was constructed complete with the goals and flags. Also, soccer balls are given to the children and other people there who would want to play the sport.
So by now, one can observe just how great of an impact the Haiti Mission Incorporated has created among the children of this area. Even though these are only just a few of the projects that this organization is working on, these projects already created such a big impact on the people. They are still helping the area of Jeremie up until today and their help definitely elevates the status of all the people there.
