Faith And Worship In Different Religion

By Anita Ortega

Faith is the situation in which one has total trust in a person or something. Most of the human race has a supreme being that they base their belief upon. Different types of beliefs exist in the world. Faith and worship is almost one and the same thing.

The main include the Muslim, Hindu and Christianity. Pagans are the people who do not have any belief. The belief is centered on a being that cannot be touched or seen; it merely depends upon a conviction of its existence.

Worship on the other hand is the act of showing adoration and in the case of religion; it is the art of praising a superior being, showing total submission to them. This practice takes many forms. It can be in the form songs, which are mostly songs. The people of in this act are the worshipers. They use sacred songs which they sing to show loyalty to the supernatural beings giving thanks for all the good in their life.

Sacrifices and tithes can also be used to express love and admiration for God. This involves sacrificing one belongings as gifts to the gods. This too is a way of appreciation. Tithes are also offered. This is just a mere 10%of a person, belongings. They do this as a means of showing thanksgiving because of their property. By doing this, they expect that they will keep on attaining blessings hence owning more than they had.

Adoration does not just take place anywhere, but in special places set aside. Christians use churches; Muslims use the mosques, Hindus have the temple. In the traditional African societies, they showed their love and respect to God in shrines. They would go there and pour libation to their gods as a way of showing respect and gratitude to the gods.

A person cannot conduct this act to a supernatural being unless he has assurance of its existence and this is where faith comes in. In religion, curses are present. These are forms of payback to those worshipers who do not follow the rules of a particular belief People may suffer misfortunes such as bareness, sickness, poverty, natural calamities and in the worst cases people may end up dead.

Individuals have reliance of life after death. They have the belief that when they die, their maker has placed for them a resting place where they will have peace that last forever. Different versions of such a place exist across the different faiths, in that each type of religion has its own visualized version of the resting home. The believers work hard to live according to the way of life set for that particular belief so that when their time in the world is done, they may join their maker as a reward for living a good life.

In each religion, there are chosen people who are supposed to lead the believers in the journey of conviction. These are called the elders. Their work is to make sure that order exists in devotion and they also lead people against going astray of the faith. The worshipers feel a sense of togetherness, a sense of belonging and this gives their life purpose and this is what makes these two very important.
